I photographed the Cox family last fall, and met Carter and miss Virginia, who was just a baby at the time. It was so heartbreaking to get a call last month, and to learn that Carter had been diagnosed with Leukemia. Courtney wanted to get a family session, in the midst of this intense season of treatment, and I was glad to accommodate. This session was a delight from start to finish. My goal was to capture a bit of the normalcy and joy and love of this family that remains in the midst of this chaos. The sweet relationship that Carter and Virginia share melted me to tears as I was editing these images. This family is so very strong and sensitive and brave, in the face of a parent’s worst nightmare. Sweet Carter is a fighter. And So. Very. Loved. My thoughts and prayers with you often, Cox fam!
